A Killer Night of Music with the Return of Musician Playground Festival!

An outdoor evening of great music and delicious cuisine partner together for the June 26th Fridays-N-Duluth!  This 2nd Annual Musician Playground Festival joins with Food Truck Fridays to offer visitors a dizzying array of musical groups, talented individuals, and a variety of dining choices, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 26th.

Headline entertainment for the 2015 Musician Playground Festival include such popular local and regional names as The Albions, Five40, Revel in Romance, and Rollie,  all to perform on the Duluth Town Green Festival Stage.

The Albions, an Athens-based four-man group, gives a new flair to the musical genre of Indie Rock. The members are known for “igniting a magical chemistry that rhythmically tells a story.”

Performing since 2013 Five40 is a five-man “reggae rock band.”  They are credited with “a new take on an old style,”   The group “is passionate about the genre, contributing their unique spin to this timeless music.”

Revel in Romance is a local group chosen as one of the 2015 Atlanta Braves’ “Bands of the Year.”  Revel in Romance will be performing at Turner Field later this season, and their debut album has an upcoming fall release date.  Other recent recognitions include a “Balcony TV People’s Choice Award” for a live performance of their song “Little Love.”

Rollie is a solo artist who writes and performs his own music and has been labeled, “uncommonly prolific.” A 2002 Pawley’s Island trip sparked his early interest to play the guitar.

By 2005, Rollie was jamming with high school friends, prior to going solo in 2010.  The performer summarizes his talents, “through the good and bad times, my music travels on the roller coaster that is life.”

Music enthusiasts attending this event will also enjoy a night of creative dining, with a variety of Food Truck options!  Menu choices ranging from BBQ to SUSHI will be available from an expected 10 Food Truck Fridays’ vendors.  As with all Fridays-N-Duluth events, open containers and coolers are allowed in Downtown Duluth, and the Musician Playground Festival will occur whether rain or shine.
