City of Duluth Celebrated with 2025 Visionary City Award

The City of Duluth is proud to announce its recognition as a recipient of the 2025 Visionary City Award, an honor granted by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) in collaboration with Georgia Trend Magazine. Presented at GMA’s Cities United Summit on January 26, this award celebrates the Rogers Bridge Project, reconnecting communities through an innovative pedestrian and cyclist bridge.

Selected in the Large Cities Category, Duluth’s Rogers Bridge Project has created a vital connection across communities, enhancing accessibility, sustainability, and the overall quality of life for its residents.

Larry Hanson, CEO and Executive Director of GMA, stated, “Duluth’s Rogers Bridge Project is a remarkable achievement in regional connectivity and environmental stewardship. This initiative not only bridges communities but also promotes active lifestyles and collaboration.”

“Being recognized with the 2025 Visionary City Award is a tremendous honor, affirming our dedication to sustainability, accessibility, and regional unity. We are proud to see Duluth leading the way in projects that enrich lives and create lasting impact,” said City of Duluth Mayor Greg Whitlock.

Duluth Dog of the Month: Teddy

Can we hear a round of a-paws for January’s Dog of the Month: Teddy!

Teddy’s humans said he “is a 2-year-old Dachshund. He loves chasing balls more than anything! He also loves sitting by a window and watching for squirrels and birds, when he isn’t napping.” Sounds like if you see this good boy around town, you should stop and give him a pet! For his dedication to helping keep our waterways clean and local ecosystems intact, Tiger Tails Animal Hospital has partnered with us to offer a great prize pack to our Dog of the Month.

Take the pledge and your pup (or pups) may just be featured as our next Dog of the Month!
