Duluth Dogs of the Month: Millie & Blakely!

Can we hear a round of a-paws for August’s Dogs of the Month: Millie & Blakely!

These sweet German Shorthaired Pointers are 12 and 7 years old. Millie and Blakely love nothing more than swimming and a good game of fetch. If you spot these doggos around town, be sure to say hi and give them some pets!

For their dedication to helping keep our waterways clean and local ecosystems intact, Tiger Tails Animal Hospital has partnered with us to offer a great prize pack to our Dogs of the Month.

Take the pledge and your pup (or pups) may just be featured as our next Dog of the Month!

Celebrating 15 Years of Compassion: Planned PEThood Honored by the City of Duluth

The City of Duluth proudly joined Planned PEThood of Georgia in celebrating 15 years of lifesaving impact. At last week’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Greg Whitlock read a proclamation on behalf of the City recognizing the organization’s dedication to affordable veterinary care, spay/neuter services, adoption efforts, and community support. Since 2010, Planned PEThood has grown from a small clinic into a statewide force for good — improving the lives of thousands of pets and families each year.

Restoring Green Space in the Heart of Duluth!

Things are getting green just outside Coleman Middle School! Starting soon, the City of Duluth Stormwater Division will be restoring the existing bioswale on Main Street as part of our ongoing efforts to put more green infrastructure in place. And the students will get a sneak peek into the action! Made possible by the Explore Gwinnett Creativity Fund, the project will give students a front row seat to learn more about stormwater management and green infrastructure. Once finished at the end of September, this little patch of green space will be a fresh reminder of Duluth’s commitment to a healthier, greener city.
